Photoinduced Changes in High Temperature Superconducting Films

چکیده
Photoexcitation experiments performed in oxygen deficient but metallic YBa,Cu,O, c-axis oriented films revealed that the persistent photoinduced enhancement of conductivity and superconductivity are not restricted to the insulating side of the metal-insulator transition. A clear increase of the critical temperature T,, which is accompanied by a decrease of the resistivity in the normal state pab, is observed for all studied oxygen contents (6.4 < x < 6.6). In this oxygen content range, the persistent photoinduced changes in T, and pab have a strong dependence on the oxygen stoichiometry of the film. Several mechanisms which may explain the persistent photoinduced phenomena are discussed.

Photoinduced superconductivity and structural changes in high temperature superconducting films
The illumination of Pr,,Gd, -,Ba,Cu,O, semiconducting and superconducting thin hlms increases their critical temperatures and decreases their normal state resistivities if and only if the films are oxygen deficient. Moreover, these changes are enhanced near the Pr-induced metal-insulator transition. Light also causes a contraction of the c-axis in YBa,C!u,O, which is correlated with the observe...

We report on the photoinduced changes of the electronic properties of YBa2Cu3Ox (x ≈ 6.6) thin films, focussing on the electrical anisotropy in the normal and the superconducting state. The latter was determined from magnetoconductivity measurements, performed before and after light excitation, and fitting the experimental results to the Aslamazov–Larkin theory of superconducting order-paramete...

We report on a large transient photoinduced enhancement of the superconducting critical temperature (DeltaTc = 23 K) in epitaxial YBa2Cu3O(6.7)/La(0.7)Ca(0.3)MnO3 bilayers upon visible light illumination. The effect relaxes with a characteristic time of 100 s at low temperatures, which is 4 orders of magnitude faster than the persistent photoconductivity or persistent photoinduced superconducti...

The photoexcited state in superconducting metals and alloys was studied via pump-probe spectroscopy. A pulsed Ti:sapphire laser was used to create the nonequilibrium state and the far-infrared pulses of a synchrotron storage ring, to which the laser is synchronized, measured the changes in the material optical properties. Both the timeand frequency-dependent photoinduced spectra of Pb, Nb, NbN,...
متن کاملPhotodoping Effects in High Critical Temperature Superconducting Films and Josephson Junctions
Persistent photoconductivity is an interesting and unusual property of high temperature superconductors. Illumination of these compounds can lead to a change in doping that is persistent at low temperature and relaxes back to its initial value at elevated temperatures. This photodoping can give rise to an improvement of superconducting properties, which is contrary to the illumination effects i...
